TRSA VOLUNTEER POLICY

As a community run soccer program volunteers are vital to the success of the program. The positions for volunteers vary and there is something for everyone of all abilities. Volunteering provides you with the opportunity to become involved with the program and help it be the best it can be. As well as showing your child you support and assist their activities. Volunteering ensures community soccer fees can remain reasonable, working together to reduce costs associated with operating the program.
Each family is required to fill one volunteer position throughout the season, regardless of how many children you have in the program. A volunteer position is either a half day commitment or an ongoing team commitment such as coaching, assisting, managing or managing the teams’ equipment. **All parents are encouraged to help out with the team by bringing snack, helping with set up or take down at games and supporting the coach where necessary to ensure the best soccer experience for your child and their teammates.
Families will be provided with 3 dates. These dates could be consecutive as a Friday/Saturday/Sunday. OR they may be 3 separate events. Times will vary some being weekend and some being during the week. While we do our best to accommodate your job preferences, please note that you could be contacted for positions outside this preference.
A deposit cheque of $125 will be required at the time of registration. This cheque will be dated for August 1st. This cheque will only be cashed under the following circumstance
- Failure to show up for the volunteer commitment you signed up for.
- Cancelling with less than 24 hours notice and not communicating with the volunteer coordinator regarding the circumstances.
- Failure to sign up or respond to 2 emails.
If you are unsure of your availability to commit, please see non volunteer payment option below. Opting out of volunteering at registration can help reduce administrate costs associated with contacting and managing volunteers.
Non Volunteer Payment Option
Families are busy and not always able to assist with volunteering. Should this be the case for your household you may decline to volunteer at registration and a 125$ additional charge will be added to your registration fees. You will not be contacted with volunteer requests throughout the season. Please note this 125$ non volunteer fee is not applicable for your child tax fitness receipt.
You are still encouraged to participate at the team level to ensure your child’s enjoyment in soccer.
All non volunteer fees are applied directly to the operational costs associated with the soccer program.
